WRTG is currently developing the following ideas and initiatives:
- A national conversation around the question: What is the purpose of tourism in Wales?
- Sustainable tourism in national parks and other protected areas
- Work with the Bangor Business School on a tourism component for the new MBA degree in Environmental Management
- A symposium on “Celtic Tourism” for academics and others with an interest in how tourism relates and contributes to culture and heritage
- A high level international symposium on Tourism and Livelihoods to be held in Beijing, China
- Building on specialist research strengths and experience at Bangor and other Welsh institutions, to develop a programme of research and symposia addressing the question: What would Responsible Tourism in Antarctica look like?
